📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about how Jesus is the Light of the World! After Jesus was born in Bethlehem, something amazing happened. Far away in the East, there were wise men called the Magi who studied the stars. One night, they saw a very special, bright star in the sky - brighter than all the others! They knew this star meant something wonderful had happened. This star was telling them that a great King had been born. Can anyone tell me what they decided to do when they saw this special star? That's right! The wise men decided to follow the star to find this new King. They packed their camels with precious gifts - gold, frankincense, and myrrh - and began their long journey. The star guided them for many days and nights, leading them all the way to Jerusalem and then to Bethlehem. When they finally found baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph, they were so happy! They knelt down and worshipped Him, giving Him their precious gifts. They knew that Jesus was no ordinary baby - He was the Light of the World, sent by God to bring hope and love to everyone. In our Maronite tradition, we celebrate this wonderful day as the Feast of Epiphany, remembering how Jesus was revealed to the whole world, not just to the Jewish people. What do you think it means that Jesus is the Light of the World? Just like the star shone brightly in the dark sky to guide the wise men, Jesus shines His light in our hearts and shows us the way to God. When we follow Jesus, we never have to walk in darkness because He is always there to guide us with His love and truth.
