📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about celebrating God's goodness throughout the year! Just like we have our year-end celebration here at Sunday School, the people in the Bible also had special times to remember and celebrate all the wonderful things God had done for them. In the Old Testament, God told His people to have special feasts and celebrations. The Israelites would gather together as families and communities to remember how God saved them from Egypt, how He provided food in the desert, and how He blessed their harvests. Can anyone tell me some ways God has blessed us this year? During these celebrations, they would share delicious meals, sing songs of praise, and tell stories about God's love. The children would listen as their parents and grandparents shared how God had been faithful to their family. In our Maronite tradition, we also love to celebrate! We have beautiful feast days throughout the year where we remember Jesus, Mary, and the saints. At the end of each year, we look back and thank God for keeping us safe, for our families, for our church, and for all His gifts. What are some things you want to thank God for from this year? Just like the people in the Bible, when we celebrate together, we remember that God is always with us. We share food, we pray together, and we praise God with joyful hearts. This helps us remember that every good thing comes from our loving Father in heaven. When we celebrate, we're not just having fun - we're showing God how grateful we are! Remember, children, celebrations help us remember God's love and prepare our hearts to trust Him in the new year ahead.
