📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about a very special moment called the Annunciation, or البشارة in Arabic. This is when God sent His angel to tell Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus! Long ago, in the town of Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. She loved God very much and prayed every day. One day, while Mary was praying, something amazing happened! The Angel Gabriel appeared to her with bright, beautiful light all around him. The angel said, 'Hello Mary! God has chosen you for something very special. Don't be afraid!' Mary was surprised to see an angel! Can anyone tell me how you might feel if you saw an angel? Then Gabriel gave Mary the most wonderful news: 'You will have a baby, and His name will be Jesus. He will be the Son of God!' Mary was amazed. She asked the angel, 'How can this happen?' The angel explained that God's Holy Spirit would make this miracle possible. Mary thought about what the angel said. Even though she didn't understand everything, she trusted God completely. She said, 'I am God's servant. Let it happen as you have said.' What a brave and faithful answer! In our Maronite tradition, we celebrate this beautiful moment every year on March 25th. We remember how Mary said 'yes' to God's plan, even when it seemed impossible. The angel left Mary feeling peaceful and joyful. She knew that God had chosen her for the most important job in the world - to be the mother of Jesus, our Savior! Remember, children: Just like Mary, God has special plans for each of us. When we trust Him and say 'yes' like Mary did, wonderful things can happen!
