📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about the wisdom God gave us through King Solomon in the Book of Proverbs! Long ago, God made King Solomon the wisest man who ever lived. Solomon wanted to share this wisdom with everyone, so he wrote down many beautiful sayings called proverbs. These proverbs teach us how to live good lives that please God. For example, Solomon wrote: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart.' This means we should always believe that God loves us and will take care of us. He also said: 'A gentle answer turns away anger.' Can anyone tell me what this means? That's right - when someone is upset with us, speaking kindly helps make peace! Solomon taught us that 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.' This doesn't mean being scared of God, but respecting Him and knowing He is holy. In our Maronite tradition, we call this reverence - loving God so much that we want to obey Him. Another beautiful proverb says: 'Honor your father and mother.' This is also one of God's Ten Commandments! Solomon reminds us to listen to our parents and show them respect. He wrote: 'Children are a crown to their parents' - that means when we are good, we make our parents very proud! Can you think of a time when listening to wise advice helped you? The proverbs teach us to be kind, honest, and hardworking. They show us that true wisdom comes from God, not just from books or school. Remember, dear children, when we read the proverbs and follow their teachings, we grow closer to God and become wiser every day. Let's always seek God's wisdom in everything we do!
