📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about one of the most special places in Lebanon — the Cedars of God (Arz ar-Rabb)! In Lebanon, high up in the mountains, grow the famous Cedars of God. These ancient trees have been there for thousands of years — some were already old when King Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem! The cedar tree (arza) is tall, strong, and beautiful. It stays green all year round, even in the snow. The cedar tree is a symbol of Lebanon and appears on the Lebanese flag. In the Bible, the Psalms say: "The righteous shall flourish like the cedar of Lebanon." This means that when we have faith and do good, we grow strong and beautiful like the cedar. Our Maronite ancestors lived among these cedars in the mountains of Lebanon. The cedar reminds us of our heritage — strong, enduring, and always reaching toward heaven.
